Giveaway: The Coldest Night by Robert Olmstead
Thanks to the generous folks at Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, I have a new hardback copy of The Coldest Night to give away here. It releases April 3, 2012, so that night I'll announce the winner and email them.
My review of the title will post on that day as well, but I've already heard alot of buzz about this literary fiction title that is described as "epic" by many.
To enter, leave a comment in the comment box telling me if the background red color on the blog now is cool, ugly, gorgeous, obnoxious, hurts your eyes, etc....AND with a way to contact you back if you win. US only, ends 4/3/12 9:00pm PACtime.
hmmm... well the color is fine, it is easier on the eyes for me with the darker background, the right side being a bit better than the lighter left side but the pattern is a little different, not the usual type, not quite sure if I like it or not.

I love the color red but the background of your blog, what I'm saying is green and the color your posts and the comments are on is a brown. It's not my favorite color combo, th brown especially, but I can read everything easily.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway. I want to read this book and have read good things about it!

Thanks Amy, I did end up changing it to green this morning because the red was driving me nuts. It's funny, the posts look grey on my screen, but brown on yours? I'll have to play around with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help!
Amy, the green background now has a very pretty floral outline design in the same brown as the color behind the posts and comment boxes. I love that, it adds a lot and connects the brown and green very nicely!(or grey on yours! Is the floral design outline grey on your scren, too?)
DeleteI understand how the red could get to be too much after just a few days. I love red but it's too bright, too vivid for some purposes!
i was wondering if i was on the wrong page with the red question! glad to see it really is the sage colour! the centre strip is an interesting taupish brown? not hard to read ;)
ReplyDeletethx to Algonquin for sharing this giveaway with us!

I don't see a red color, but I like the green color. Thanks for the giveaway.

I don't see a red color either--don't think I'm color blind! The background is a very peaceful blue green.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
